Having recently retired from my position as Chief Executive Officer of the Nova Scotia Labour Board, as a professional organizational leader, I have years of demonstrated experience effectively leading teams, managing priorities, developing strategies and achieving operational goals within a provincial government organization. I have significant knowledge and expertise in interpreting workplace laws (e.g. labour relations, employments standards, OHS) and providing sound advice on the application of laws in the workplace. I am guided by the “keep it simple” principle, and I love designing practical solutions and effective strategies that both inspire the team and produce desired results. I am a biracial 7th generation African Nova Scotian who deeply values equity, diversity, and inclusion for all. I am skilled in operational planning; workforce and succession planning; team engagement and change management strategies; mediation/alternative dispute resolution (ADR); and, workplace investigations and assessments.
